If you get an error in syslog like "nsc_ircc_open(), can't get iobase of 0x2f8" it probably means you have manually specified resources for IrDA in the BIOS. When I use Intel Driver update utility, it shows new version of drivers available. NOTE! maybe u can try this.. Get More Info Options are to either restore the BIOS settings for IrDA to factory default, or you can work around it by using setserial to clear the resources before loading the nsc_ircc kernel
Works really nicely ! How to select driver? The config file /etc/sysconfig/lirc does not seem to help. Several things can go wrong if the steps are not followed accurately.
I have installed all latest drivers for my laptop from Dell website. Boot into Linux, and first ensure the setserial program is installed. Dowload and install all "WINDOWS VISTA 32bit DRIVERS" it works fine. if its hardware issue - its hard to fix ,,,,,,, than I can suggest , invest in a Bluetooth (which is lots better and faster) as a substitue ....
